A stained glass window starts with a design which is then rendered in color.  After client approval, a cartoon is created and cut line copies are made to use as a template.  Glass is chosen based on color, texture and pattern, and then is cut to fit the pattern pieces.  Any pieces that require painting are painted and fired in the kiln as many times as necessary to create the desired pattern or picture.

The pieces of glass are then assembled with lead came, and soldered at the joints.  Putty is brushed under the lead came on both sides to make the window water-tight and rigid.  The window is then cleaned and any needed support bars are added.    

The craftsmen at our studio adhere to traditional methods. This is one of the reasons we have excellent reputation for quality workmanship.
